Leadership
Cleophus Lee is the first Executive Director of the CBO Collective. Lee’s career has been dedicated to working with nonprofit organizations to build their capacity to increase their effectiveness in providing services to the communities they serve. Lee has successfully worked to develop collaborations and partnerships with residents of low-income communities, community-based organizations, and governmental agencies to build stronger and more effective initiatives in workforce development, re-entry, youth development, and violence prevention & intervention.
The CBO Collective is guided by the leadership of "Tri-Lead" CEOs. Karina Ayala-Bermejo, President & CEO of Instituto del Progreso Latino, Karen Freeman-Wilson, President & CEO of Chicago Urban League, and Marie Trzupek Lynch, President & CEO of Skills for Chicagoland's Future.
The foundation of the CBO Collective is built on the leaders of the organizations comprising the collective. Their drive, commitment, and passion for serving Chicagoans provides the fuel for the collective to thrive.
